Appetizer, Dessert Crawl returns in a new spring series

April 4, 2024 By whvoice

The Shops at Yale is pleased to announce the return of its popular Annual Appetizer & Dessert Crawl, showcasing Downtown New Haven’s diverse culinary offerings while raising money for local non-profits. New this year, The Shops at Yale is organizing a series of three crawls on Saturdays April 13, May 4 and June 8 from noon to 3:00 p.m.

During the Appetizer & Dessert Crawls, guests will enjoy appetizer and dessert tastings from 13 popular restaurants and eateries at The Shops at Yale for only $20, plus a $3.18 processing fee. Participating restaurants and/or menus vary slightly per crawl. Ticket purchases include free all-day parking at the 150 York Street Garage (aka Chapel-York Garage), exclusive shopping offers, and a cotton tote bag. Proceeds from these events will be donated to New Reach, the Robin I. Kroogman New Haven Animal Shelter and the International Festival of Arts & Ideas.

Event details and tickets are available at https://theshopsatyale.com/appcrawl/.

A Dog Adoption with the Robin I. Kroogman New Haven Animal Shelter, Friends of the New Haven Animal Shelter, and North Shore Animal League is scheduled for Saturday, May 4 from noon to 3:00 p.m. on Broadway Island, located at 56 Broadway in New Haven, to coincide with the Appetizer & Dessert Crawl event raising money for the shelter. The Dog Adoption event will include live jazz from New Haven Underground, free face painting, free kettle corn, free caricatures, free parking at 150 York Street Garage with validation at the event, and of course many dogs available for adoption! The Dog Adoption is free an open to the public, while the Appetizer & Dessert Crawl is a ticketed event.

Downtown New Haven has become one of the most popular foodie destinations in Connecticut, attracting some of the area’s most talented chefs and restaurateurs. The Appetizer & Dessert Crawl is a fun way to showcase the wide variety of culinary offerings in Downtown New Haven, while raising money for three great non-profits. “To date, The Shops at Yale has donated more than $14,000 to the Robin I. Kroogman New Haven Animal Shelter from this event. This year our goal is to make another $3,500 donation, in addition to expanding our fundraising to include New Reach and Arts & Ideas,” said David DelVecchio, Director of Real Estate Asset Management for Yale University Properties. David added, “Based on high demand in 2023, we chose to expand the number of Appetizer & Dessert Crawls from one to three to accommodate additional guests. Visitors travel from all over Connecticut, and even from out-of-state, for this unique family-friendly event which enables us to maintain a vibrant economic ecosystem and helps our districts to thrive.”
