Together we growThe new “Together We Grow” mural, hand painted by resident Elizabeth Jasmine Taylor, represents the new life and growth of the future West Haven Community Center at 255 Meloy Road. Mayor Dorinda Borer obtained $1.8 million in 2024 to convert the former Anna V. Molloy Elementary School building into a state-of-the-art community center to provide services and programs for older adults, veterans and young people. The new center is tentatively scheduled to open Oct. 22. -
Garden ClubIn the quiet basement of the Ora Mason Library on the second Thursday of each month except for July and August a small group of women meet. This group are members of the West Haven Garden Club organized on Dec. 5, 1929, and became a member of The Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut., Inc. on Feb. 6, 1930. Among the club’s project is maintenance of the historical Prudden Street burial site of Adj. William Campbell, the man for whom Campbell Avenue is named. The club also delivers small colorful arrangements to local nursing homes as seen above -

Summer funCole Santino and friends enjoy playing with bubbles at the West Haven Child Development Center, Inc. The children have done several educational and enjoyable things such as growing their own vegetables. This was a bit of whimsical fun. -
