Trip to Mohegan Sun slated
The West Haven Senior Center is offering a bus trip to the Mohegan Sun casino in Uncasville on July 12.
No casino packages are offered at the moment.
The trip costs $35. Payment is due June 16. Mohegan Sun also offers more than 30 stores for shoppers.
The bus departs at 8:30 a.m. from the Veterans Memorial Park parking lot at 91 Bull Hill Lane, the former Nike site, and leaves at 3 p.m. from the casino.
Senior center membership is not required to attend. To reserve a seat, call the center at (203) 937-3507.
Stamp Club meetings
The New Haven Stamp Club meets every Tuesday evening at 82 Clark Road in North Haven at 7:30 p.m.
New members are welcome. The club holds a stamp and coin show the fourth Sunday of the month 9-2:30 p.m. at the Annex Club, 554 Woodward Ave. East Haven.
Grieving parents’ group meets
West Haven Youth and Family Services’ Grieving Parents Support Group led by Cate Saxton and liaison Marianne Gambardella, meets monthly on the first and third Wednesdays from 6-7:30 p.m. at the West Haven Senior center. Come and meet other grieving parents and be part of a confidential, safe environment.
Drive-thru Diaper Drive, Saturday
A Drive-thru Diaper Drive will be held on Saturday, May 13 from 9:00 a.m. to noon, at New Life Church, 255 Jones Hill Road, West Haven. Sponsored by the Social Justice Committee of St John XXIII Parish, the drive will benefit the West Haven Diaper Bank. Sizes 4 and up are requested; baby wipes are appreciated as well.
Mothers Day Plant and Pop Up slated
A Mothers Day Plant Sale & Pop Up is set for the Savin Rock Surf Shop, 270 Captain T Blvd., for Saturday, May 13, from 10-3, and Sunday, May 14, from 8-noon. The event is indoors, featuring tables of vendors with a wide range of handmade gifts and products. We will also have a fresh, local selection of flowers, plants and herbs.
Bradley Point Garden Club meets.
The Bradley Point Garden Club will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 16, at the Ora Mason Library, 260 Benham Hill Road at noon. Please bring your own lunch. After a business meeting, MaryEllen Abbagnaro will provide a demonstration on Container Gardening. New members are always welcome to
