Historical Society Meeting tonight
The November Meeting of the Historical Society will take place Thursday November 9 at 7:30 p.m. The speaker will be William Heffernan who will speak on Nepal and Mount Everest, two places he visited recently. His remarks will be accompanied by pictures of those two remote parts of the world.
Plans for the Holiday Fair will be discussed as part of the business meeting of the society. The public is invited.
Fall Festival Dance
The Harugari Singing Society is planning its Fall Festival Dinner Dance on Sunday, Nov. 12 from 1-6 p.m. in the club hall, 66 Highland St. The celebration includes a sauerbraten dinner served with spaetzle, red cabbage, dessert and coffee. Sha-Musi will be performing for your listening and dancing pleasure. Tickets are $20 members, $25 non-members. Christkindlmarkt
The annual Christkindlmarkt of the Harugari Singing Society is planned for Sunday, Dec. 3 from noon to 3 in the club hall, 66 Highland St.Come to the hall and pick up some Christmas crafts and gifts. Homemade baked goods will also be for sale. Doors open at noon. Admission to the market is free. Included is a Rindsrouladen Dinner at 2. BP Garden Club
Bradley Point Garden Club will hold its monthly meeting at noon, Tuesday, Nov.14, in City Hall, 355 Main St., lower level. Lunch will be followed by a workshop to make a Kissing Ball. New members welcome. Call Marie at (203) 878-8428.
Fall Festival
First Lutheran Church, 52 George St, will host its annual fall festival on Saturday, Nov. 18 from 9-2. There will be vendors, baked goods, white elephant, raffles and refreshments.
Used Book Sale
The First Congregational Church, 464 Campbell Ave., will host its monthly used book sale, SERRV Shop and Clothes Closet on Saturday, Nov. 11 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. There are always some interesting books to be found, including many children’s books, gifts made by refugees from around the world and gently used clothing at very low prices. Trees of WH
The Ward-Heitmann House Museum will hold its annual Trees of West Haven event at St. John Vianney Church Hall on Saturday Dec. 2 and Sunday, Dec. 3 from 10:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. There will be many raffle prizes and we are looking for a few vendors or crafters to attend either one or two days. Savin Rock Community School is sponsoring the Rockin’ the Holidays Festival on Saturday, Nov. 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the school gym, 50 Park St. Great shopping for the holidays. Items supplied by local vendors and artists. Raffles, entertainment, bake sale, food court, and more.

‘Back to the Oldies’
“Back to the Oldies” makes a return to Cielo, 85 Chase Lane, on Saturday, Nov. 11, from 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Charles F. Rosenay the “Original Boppers DJ is set to spin the discs, while Carla Gemma Caccavale performs. Tickets are $20 per person and include door prizes, coffee and dessert. The raffle benefits the MDA. ROCKin’ the Holidays Festival at Savin Rock Community School is looking for vendors, crafters and artist for their fair! Savin Rock Community School is located on 50 Park St. The festival will held on Saturday, Nov. 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Rent six feet of space for $25. The Seth Haley Memorial Loan Fund of West Haven provides eligible college students with loans of up to $2500 to help students finish their post high school education. Applicants must be West Haven residents who have completed two or more years of college or post-secondary work or be in their final two years of advanced work. Any West Haven resident attending college or a post high school professional, technical or trade school can be eligible for a loan. Repayments do not begin, and no interest will be charged until one year after graduation.
