The Harugari German-American Society will present its annual German Bierfest on Sunday, July 29, at 1 p.m. on the club grounds, 66 Highland St. The gate opens at 1. The Austrian Boys will play traditional German from 2-6. There will also special entertainment by the Harugari Schuhplattlers. Admission is $5 for adults, no charge for children 18 and under. Free entrance for Veterans.
The West Haven Italian-American Association will hold its Annual Hawaiian Luau at 85 Chase Lane on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018 at 6:30. A sit-down Hawaiian dinner, from Cusano By Maria, with open bar, will be served at 6:30, followed by DJ Chick’s music from 8-12. Cost is $45.00. F Seniors and Friends has two trips planned for the upcoming weeks: Quincy Market and St. Anthony Feast on Saturday, Aug. 25. Price is $45 per person and the bus leaves West Haven at 8 a.m.
A trip to Atlantic City is planned for Jan. 2-4 at Resorts Casino. It includes four meals, $20 in slot play and two shows. Price is $229 per person.

Community Garden plots
The West Haven Community Garden is accepting applications for new members. WHCG is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to helping its members grow organic produce for themselves and their families. It is located behind Molloy School on Meloy Road and is open May 1-Oct. 31. Garden plots (10x10ft) are $30; $20 for seniors 65 and older.
