O’Brien news conference discusses PURA decision
Mayor Edward M. O’Brien will hold a news conference to discuss the recent decision by the state Public Utilities Regulatory Authority to give cities and towns more control over where cell towers are placed. This is a landmark decision in a case that was sparked by a motivated group of West Haven residents who spoke up about an issue in their community.
The news conference is scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, at the corner of Ocean Avenue and Morris Street in West Haven.
In addition to O’Brien, attendees will include state Sen. Gayle Slossberg, D-14, Councilman Sean P. Ronan, D-9, and attorney Burt Cohen, who acted as counsel for the case, as well as Donna Hamzy and Joe DeLong of the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities and neighborhood residents who brought the issue to the city and state’s attention.
Please forward all questions regarding the news event to the mayor’s office at (203) 937-3510.
