Joe Miller, Democrat for State Representative in the 116th District against RepTreneé McGee, announced an endorsement from veteran and 8th District West Haven Councilman Victor Borras.
Borras said, “We need a fresh perspective and a fresh mind to represent us in West Haven. Joe Miller has a hunger to help the people, and I know he will put in the tough work to make our lives better no matter who we are. West Haveners want a people person, and Joe is that leader for us. I enthusiastically endorse Joe Miller for State Representative in the 116th district.”
“I am honored to earn Victor’s trust and support for our campaign. Victor represents a changing of the guard in our city, and we share the same values when it comes to helping the people we seek to represent. I look forward to working with Victor to better the lives of the people of West Haven,” said Joe Miller Tuesday morning.
Last week, the Miller campaign announced the endorsement from the CT Young Democrats in the run-up to the Aug. 9 Democratic Primary

I asked this candidate and his endorser questions. They were all erased from the page Joe for 116th. How can he stand the stress of politics if he erases comments/ questions???
Here’s my questions…..How is Councilman Boras endorsing a pro-choice candidate when he’s pro-life?? He’s a man of God, a Chaplain and gives sermons at local churches? Seems to me that’s a huge conflict.
I also asked Joe what he thought about the Councilman refusing to marry same sex couples? I asked him if he would support legislation to ensure this is always allowed in CT. Joe refused to answer and deleted my comments. Short story is I went to city hall and obtained a list of local JP’s. The councilman never returned my calls to marry us. I was told later that it’s against his religion to marry men. Interesting how that religion works. He supports a woman’s right to chose but not her right to marry who she loves. Thank goodness only God can judge us.
Councilman Victor Boras throws around he’s a veteran every time he talks but won’t say for what. Is he Army, Navy, Coast Guard, Marines or Air Force?? It’s a disgrace that he can’t support it. The men and woman who served are able to share that tidbit. Not saying he’s a liar but have some respect for our nation. Throwing around being a veteran like he does is disgraceful.

There are 13 Council members. Who did the other 12 endorse? This Councilperson in the 115th and doesn’t vote in the 116th. I find it very weird that this candidate doesn’t have the endorsement of the council-members who would actually vote for him. I think there’s 4 that are in 116th but he has a story about the one person who lives somewhere else.
Not one comment about what he believes in or will do except to say this guy endorses him. Say something about the above comment. The council person refuses to marry same sex couples, what is your stance. Will you denounce that bigotry. Tell us Joe?? I’m a proud gay woman, will you ensure my rights???
