Bulk trash pickup has been suspended today and Friday, June 7-8, because the plant that accepts the trash is at capacity, Mayor Nancy R. Rossi and acting Public Works Commissioner Lou Esposito said.
Bulk trash pickup, which began Monday, June 4, will resume no later than Monday, June 11, Rossi and Esposito said.
Residents are urged to be patient while the issue is rectified. Every neighborhood will be picked up, they said.
Residents will not be fined for keeping trash at the curb more than 24 hours before pickup, Esposito said.
Meantime, curbside pickups of regular household trash and recycling will continue uninterrupted because they are carted to a different facility, he said.
