West Haven Girls basketball tipped off its postseason tournament with games at Seth Haley.
Madden Evangeliste scored all the points in overtime to lead the fourth-seeded Shoreljne Dental Cardinals to a 22-18 win over the Prospect Fish and Game Blue Devils.
Jada Fowler, Cristel Miguel and Lily Granata all scored key baskets as the Cardinals rallied after trailing the whole game. Micah Pullen, Madison McGwire and Savannah McGorty led the Blue Devils on the offensive end.
The third-seeded West Haven Drug & Alcohol Panthers survived an upset bid by the Napoli Parts Eagles in their 21-14 win. Ciara Harp and Jaecianna Mitchell accounted for all the Panthers scoring. The Eagles were led by the hot shooting of Amalia Ortiz and Amarae Rosario.
Playoffs continue this week with championship Friday night at Seth Haley at 7:15 p.m. The instructional division will hold its graduates’ game at 6:15 p.m. Friday as well.
