Councilman Barry Lee Cohen, the Republican mayoral candidate, and his One West Haven Team have scheduled town hall meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 20, at the Savin Rock Community School, 50 Park St. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with the town hall beginning at 7. Masks are required inside school buildings per executive order by Governor Lamont.
“Our town hall last month at West Haven High School allowed us to thoroughly address every question submitted by text, email, and audience members. With almost 100 attendees, we ran well over whereas we felt another town hall was essential,” Cohen said.
He said the format will aid people making a choice.
“Unlike recent, staged debates that do not offer a true exchange of ideas between candidates and participates, our series of town halls, including four prior town halls held at Morrissey Manor, Prete, Surfside, and Union, offers the ideal opportunity for voters to freely express their concerns on the need for fiscal responsibility, economic development, essential use and monitoring of American Rescue Plan funds, unanswered blight complaints, and much more. I look forward to addressing their questions and continuing the conversation,” he said.
