In the opening round of the playoffs, the Gunning Law Firm Mets defeated the Leslie Jewelers Dodgers, 1-0, as neither team got a hit. Robert Foley and Jayden Roby allowed no hits and had 18 strikeouts for the Mets. AJ Pope allowed no hits and had 11 strikeouts for the Dodgers. The Mets scored the lone run as Jacob D’Avignon walked, stole 2nd and 3rd, and scored on a throwing error.
The Augliera Movers Pirates beat the Duffy’s Tavern Red Sox, 6-2, behind the six-hit pitching of Tyler Bassett and Tegan Grillo. Paul Lynch had 2 hits, and Devin O’Brien had a key hit in the sixth inning.
The Pirates defeated the Mets to remain undefeated in the tournament, 4-3. Devin Bernier had a key hit, and Mark Lynch scored the winning run. Maurizio Urriola had a triple for the Mets. Bank Tighe made a great catch with two runners on to seal the victory for the Pirates.
The Dodgers beat the Red Sox, 10-5, to advance to the semi-final round behind the pitching of Michael Luth and Tanner Oliwa. Michael and Tanner also both had two hits driving in the runs to secure the Dodgers win.
