In the CDG Division action this past weekend, CT Pest Elimination Orange Dragons defeated Oyster River Oil , 4-2. Caydance Hill, Madyson Ortiz, Nina Reed and Nada El Moyki all scored for the Dragons, while Fatima Mayana played great on the field, displaying impressive soccer skills. On the Oyster River side of the ball, a goal was scored by Juliana Mancini and Isabella Violante-Fletcher and Isabel Kariais had a great game on defense. Alexandria Lindsay, Mackensie Jacjsics and Melissa Valtierra supplied strong defense to keep the score close.
In the CDB division, the Green Knights continued their impressive play as they outscored Top Hat Dancing Red Team, 10-1. Joseph Lakaj had four goals,Miles Ligon had 3, while Edward Perez, Daniel Fedieta and Chauncey Best each chipped in with a goal. Rui DaSilva played a strong game all around. On defense Quinn Eyrlich and Jordan Paulin held the defense together and goalkeeper Isiah Hampton,Andrew Bello,Jason Giannotti and John Kalapala continued a great tandem of goalkeepers.
In EG Division play, the Italian Imports Red Fireballs put forth another solid soccer effort falling in a close match, to the Baybrook Remodelers Maroon team, 1-0. Katerina Oliviera, Mariella Cappetta and Madison Jacksics led an outstanding offense with numerous shots, just missing several shots with great skills. Alexandria Lindsay, Mackensie Jacjsics and Melissa Valtierra supplied strong defense to keep the score close. Madden Evangeliste Played well in net.
In the GB Division, GB3 played GB5, losing 5-3. For GB3, Josiah Soto had a great overall performance with a goal and Alexzander Jones and Nylah O’Gilvie contributed strong play. In another game for the GB3 team, it played GB6, winning 5-4. For GB3, Zaid Abdulkarem had a great overall performance with a goal and excellent defense. Sofia Vallejo and Angelina Frosolone in the win.
The Elite Soccer Camps U-12 girls travel team played at home Saturday against Wallingford, falling 4-2 against their tough opponents. Wallingford scored two early, despite the strong defensive play of Isabelle Nagle and Cynthia Burns. The Westies pulled even after halftime, with Abigail Phelan and Summer Krajcir stringing together passes to open spaces up for their teammates to attack. Brooke Throm and Josephine Lakaj also gave a solid effort.
The West Haven girls U-11 Lightning Travel Team hosted Clinton on Sunday afternoon, and the Westies came out on top, 4-2, in large part thanks to the very strong goalkeeping of Kayla Burt. She made some spectacular saves to give West Haven the win. Chloe Whelan anchored the defense, and stifled a few Clinton counter attacks. Adelicia Parise, Niamh Chesson, and Sophie Mazuroski also played well on defense, while Etta Funke and Annabelle Pasacreta worked hard on the flanks in the win for West Haven.
The West Haven girls U-11 Thunder played two tough games this weekend, losing both, but playing really well in the process. On Saturday the Thunder traveled to Guilford, and fell, 1-0, though it was the visitors that outplayed their opponents. Sunday the girls faced a tough Milford team that is on a role lately. Llyanna Griffith-Waite and Andreya Bridges played well on defense, and Lea Boguniecki never stopped hustling and going after the ball. Amyah Kelly, Ciara Harp, and Michelle Ceja were aggressive on offense and Jayden Braaker gave an all around strong effort over the weekend .
The West Haven U-10 boys won two games this weekend. The Blue Devils defeated Meriden, 5-1, on Friday night in Meriden. Mehmet Aciker led the team with two goals and an assist. Sean Studley scored a goal and an assist. Nate Charron and Santiago Morales added goals while Jovan Lukaj and Pablo Feregrino had assists. Efrain Brown and Maicon Miguel split time in net. Matt Panton was stout on defense.
On Sunday afternoon the Westies defeated Branford, 4-1. Studley had two goals, including a direct free kick. Panton had a goal and assist. Ramy Mendhouj scored a goal while Eddie Fagnani added an assist.
