The Elite Soccer Camps Golden Dragons played a strong game against the Porto Funeral Homes Navy Sharks with the Dragons winning, 10-5. Ben Trenchard and Matteo D’Elia both picked up a brace, with Jax Guarino adding a goal and Jacob Rader getting a hat trick. Luca DeCrescezno played a strong game in the win for the Dragons. The Jason Ranalli Yellow Bees played an exciting game against the West Haven Professional Firefighters Sharks this week. In a back-to-back scoring experience for the boys, Owen Witkins shined on the field. Talla Ndiaye and Yadiel Rios both scored their first-ever goals. The P&B Express Blue Wolves won Saturday’s game, 5-0, against West Shore Family Dental. Nathan Almeida was a phenomenal goalkeeper and played offense too, Gabriel Quezada was played great defense alongside Jayden Williams, and Daimeon Griffin contributed to both offensively and defensively.
The Milano & Wanat U10 girls travel team defeated Orange on Friday evening, 4-1. Kylie Gibbons scored a hat trick, and Sophia Empric added the other goal. A strong defensive game was played by Sophia Locklear. Lynnie Chesson, Jayda Ciliberti, and Haleigh McCarthy controlled the midfield. On Saturday evening the U10 girls travel team lost to North Haven 3-0. Hailey Dargon showed good effort on defense while Lynnie Chesson Arianna Throm, and Lulu Sebas played well at midfield. Spohia Empric and Kylie Gibbons combined for several nice passes and shot opportunities.
The West Haven Police Local 895 U12 boys continued to dominate their schedule by posting a pair of 7-0 wins over the weekend. Seven different players scored goals for the balanced West Haven attack. The Blue Devils are now undefeated at 5-0-0 on the season. On Friday night the Westies traveled to Southington to play under the lights. West Haven jumped all over the home team with first half goals by Sean Studley, Pedro Furtado (2), and Pacey Larka. Nate Charron, Ramy Mendhouj, Ryan Malone and Furtado earned assists. In the second half the Blue Devils did not relent. Furtado completed his hat trick early in the half with an assist to Maicon Miguel. Miguel and Charron tallied later with Studley assisting on both goals. Efrain Brown and Matthew Panton controlled play in the back for West Haven while Rafi Treat and Victor Davila earned the shutout splitting time in goal. On Sunday afternoon at Duffy Field the Westies hosted Clinton and picked up right where they left off. Studley opened the scoring before Furtado added another. Malone smashed home Furtado’s assist and Mendhouj tapped in Studley’s flick for a 4-0 half time lead. Furtado’s beautiful chip was headed in by Studley to open the second half scoring. Malone added another goal before Miguel capped the scoring with a volley. Jovan Lakaj and Mehmet Aciker were strong for the Westies. Treat and Davila combined for their second shutout of the weekend.
On Saturday, the Oyster River Energy U9 girls played Southington at home losing, 2-0. Celeste DiNallo and Josylyn Davila controlled the ball well up and down the field. On Sunday, the girls traveled to Shelton winning, 2-1. Luciana Cappetta and Stella Porto scored for West Haven. Gillian Wynus played a solid defense while Annabelle Fiorillo and Ava Pellino were strong winning the ball against Shelton. Olivia Petrie made some great saves in goal.
The Gunning Law Firm Blue Hurricanes defeated Shoreline Wellness, 5-0. Goals were scored by Sophia Empric, Stella Porto and Danaangelique Lopez-Salazar. Lynnie Chesson had a strong game in goal while Lulu Sebas, Angelina Torres, and Chelsea Hernandez had strong games on the field. The Top Hat Academy Green Crocodiles found themselves down early against the WH Italian-American Civic Assn. The Crocs were able to bounce back and get the 7-2 win with great effort from Aarohi Jain and Amelia Finek. Julissa Olivera and Kendall Gilchrist were great on defense to help seal the victory. The Cappetta’s Italian Imports Polar Bears played an impressive game against Keenan Funeral Home winning, 4-1. Samantha Zuk and Luciana Cappetta scored while Kiley McCoart played a strong defense. Alianna Wilson was solid in goal.
The Sweet Relief Catering Blue Thunder came away with a 3-2 win over Barcode. It was a well-played game with goals by Caleb Awuah and Ato Appiah, with excellent goalkeeping by Guillermo Gonzaga and great defense by Dylan Soc and Christian Reyes. The Stars Ice Cream Warriors defeated the Rock House School of Music, 7-5. The warriors were led by Carnasia Shabazz with three goals, and Dulce Poou Giron and Haley Colon each scored two goals. Jazmin Morales and Camila Suarezcaporal played good defense.
Nick’s Luncheonette Dragons played Gunning Law Firm to a 4-4 draw. The Dragons played hard to take a tie with Jaden Prates and Caleb Redmen doing a great job on defence and Mason Panton on offense. The WH Federation of Teachers Local 1542 Mini-Blueberries played Frank Agvent Plumbing and Heating winning, 5-3. Joelle Dixon made passes to her team helping them move the ball down the field. Tyraja Garner scored the first goal of the game. Karine Davila scored points for her team. Isabella Cooper made her second goal of the season. Anessa Worrell helped her team in the win. The Stars Ice Cream Gold Stars played the George Ellis Company, but came up short, 7-2. Juliana Crudo attacked the ball and was able to take some shots on goal. Madison Jacksics used her skills from practice to get some good touches on the ball.
