Gripe Vine has been made aware of many motor vehicle complaints on Benham Hill Road and Hubbard Road.
To illustrate complaints: “The WHPD has set up stop signs in the road and included increased motor vehicle stops as well; Same thing, going on for eight years now; some things never change; average car speed 45 miles per hour; this is still an active problem; another year down same problem; problem rises; same problem, more traffic; 12 years and the problem continues; Benham Hill Road is a speedway now; there is a tree there that obscures the stop sign from one direction.”
I am waiting, readers, for a reply from Councilman Barry Lee Cohen whom I anticipate will research this problem enabling a permanent solution to this hazardous area.
Dear Eleanore Turkington;
The entire length of Chestnut Street between Savin Avenue and Kelsey Avenue is strewn with potholes. There are too many to avoid. Please repave the road.
GM Repair
Dear Repair:
Councilwoman Bridgette J. Hoskie replied to your complaint with,” I have forwarded this to Public Works.”
Dear Eleanore Turkington:
In the summer I wrote you about the traffic and the horrible traffic accidents(Second Avenue). There are no added stop signs for our neighborhood’s safety. Second Avenue is a nightmare even in the summertime, it is a raceway. I believe a couple of stop signs would slow things down.
Ch Afraid
Dear Afraid:
Back on January 16 Gripe Vine notified Council people, William X. Conlon, Elizabeth Johnston and Michael Gallignano of this situation. This area of complaint has been visited many times in Gripe Vine. It is sincerely hoped these representatives will contact Gripe Vine with up-to-date investigation results.:
Dear Eleanore Turkington:
There is a MAJOR problem on Meloy Road going south downhill towards Sawmill Road. I hit it last week and lost my tire. I don’t know who to contact about this.
Fearful UA

I have contacted Councilwoman Chrystal Fanelli who replied, ”This spot has already been added to the list. He (your reader) can contact the city clerk’s office to fill out a form for reimbursement.”
Dear Eleanore Turkington:
The Canada Geese have made a mess of the walks around the Veteran’s Memorial at Bradley Point. Can the city please clean this up?
