Once again, Public Works Commissioner Tom J. McCarthy also stated the portable toilets will be cleaned every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Otherwise, if it is a holiday week or there are “trucking issues,” the toilets will be cleaned on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Maintaining clean, healthy accommodations was a frequent complaint to Gripe Vine. This is encouraging news. My readers are encouraged to let me know if sanitation issues are not observed with this city-wide installation of portable toilets.
Readers, may I suggest you clip this week’s column of Gripe Vine and keep it in your glove compartment for reference o on your bulletin board.
Dear Eleanore Turkington:
There is a pothole at the bottom of the driveway at 95 Park Terrace Avenue. Would you please have someone from Public Works repair it?
West Haven Resident

I have contacted your District Council Person Meli Garthwait who promptly responded and referred your complaint to Public Works Commissioner Tom McCarthy. Please let me know if this pothole has been filled.
Dear Gripe Vine Readers:
I have pursued vehemently the complaint of motorists parking their cars on the sidewalk at the high school ball field. I did receive a reply from your District Representative, Meli Garthwaite who indicated your complaint would be forwarded to the West Haven Police Traffic Department. Has anyone seen an improvement here?
