Dear Eleanore Turkington:
Spring is here and so are the baseball parents parking on the sidewalk in the fire lane at the high school causing pedestrians to have pedestrians to walk on the busy roadway.
It’s very dangerous and we have spent so much money on our high school and the ample parking lots to house all of the cars and keep our pedestrians safe.
Thanks for helping in the past, Eleanore, with this issue.
PT
Dear PT:
Unfortunately, I made numerous attempts to address your complaint. However, this year, I went another way and was able to come up with a solution.
I asked Lt. Joseph D’Amato, Patrol Division Shift Commander of The West Haven Police Department for some help with this problem. He replied, “Please have any complainant contact the Police Department non-emergency phone (203) 937-3900 and speak with a police dispatcher to report any parking violations. Violations such as these, they need to be called in when observed.”
My suggestion, PT place this phone number in your cell phone and have the police department come and take care of this complaint on the spot!
Dear Eleanore Turkington:
I don’t know if any of your readers have complained to you about all the television commercials that show up during an average television show. Recently I took a count on some of them and wanted to share my gripe with your readers.
I am aware that these commercials can be avoided if you subscribe to cable. That is a personal choice, but I can’t afford cable. So, I have to bear with the ads that appear on regular television. Soo here is the count I metered during my recent visit to TV Land. There were 11, yes, 11 during one movie, 8 on another and 9 on another. Sometimes I lost track of the program or movie I was viewing!
My question, Eleanore, is there a limit to how many commercials can be shown during a non-pay television offering?
Jay Bee
Dear Jay Bee:
Here’s the information provided , by the FCC Federal communications Commission, “There are no rules regarding the amount of airtime a television station or network cable or otherwise devotes to commercials. The exception to that rule is children’s programming.”
My suggestion to your gripe is to hit the sound button on your controller.
