Dear Eleanore Turkington:
First and foremost, I want to thank you for all the services you provide to us Westies. I have been a resident of West Haven for over 30 years and witness its decline but remain optimistic.
I reside on Leete Street between Campbell and Washington Avenue. Our street is full of violations.
Two homes own six to eight vehicles, some with Vermont and New Jersey license plates. One homeowner takes it upon himself to work on his cars on his driveway and on the street. (Mr. McCarthy from Public Works chatted with him about this.)
There is a green Honda that leaks oil that parks in front of several houses and leaves a puddle that my neighbors and I have to put cat litter to try and absorb it. My two concerns are environmental, what goes in the ground goes in the sound. My second concern is it looks very unsightly and will eventually ruin the street. My neighbors spoke to the landlord with no avail.
Disgusted Neighbor
Dear Disgusted Neighbor:
I have notified Council Persons Meli Garthwait and Sara Ackbarali of these conditions on Leete Street. Please let Gripe Vine know as soon as you see an improvement here.
Dear Gripe Vine Readers:
I have been asked why music and dancing has stopped on the boardwalk this past summer. Will the powers to be let me know so I can provide an answer for my readers?
Also, last year I was asked when the empty lot at 307 Washington Ave. will be cleaned up of dumped trash, and a three-foot-high fence. Gripe Vine has been in touch with Council Woman Sara J. Ackbarali who indicated she had forwarded this complaint to the city. If you live in this neighborhood and have not see an improvement, please let Gripe Vine know whether by email or regular mail, [email protected] or Gripe Vine 840 Boston Post Road, West Haven 06516.
Dear Eleanore Turkington:
Please look into a gripe regarding a complaint on Donald and Jeffrey Street. There is broken pavement here. I have called the city three times, and nothing was done.
Out of Patience
Dear Out of Patience:
Gripe Vine has contacted Council member Katherine Tucker of this problem. Please let me know when the broken pavement has been repaired.
