Dear Eleanore Turkington:
West Haven can’t wait to cancel anything. They can- celled a July concert in the Grove. I can’t believe this. Who makes these decisions and why was this concert can- celled in the morning?
Disgruntled Music Lover
Dear Disgruntled:
Francis Withington, West Haven’s Complaint Officer said, “The concert was can- celled at 1 p.m. by the Parks Department. It was resched- uled for Monday and went off nicely.
Again, another Friday, it was cancelled around 3:30 p.m. and again by the Parks Department. It was resched- uled.
Any mention of heavy wind or thunderstorms has to be taken seriously.”
Dear Eleanore Turkington:
I wrote you on March 26 and your reply stated Francis Withington said that the curb complaint at Peck and William Street is reported to Jim Caval- laro and it will be done within the next couple of weeks. It has been OVER 12 WEEKS and still no repairs. I’ve called numerous times and either get put on hold or told NO ONE is in now. I’m attaching the ORIGINAL ARTICLE with pictures of the curb.
Frustrated Taxpayer
Dear Frustrated Taxpayer:
According to West Haven’s Complaint Officer, Francis Withington, “We’re doing curbs in Allingtown now. I ad- vised Jim Cavallaro, Highway Superintendent of this curb and he will address as soon as possible.”
Dear Eleanore Turkington:
There was a broken drain- age pipe on Colonial Drive. Will it be repaired?
Interested
Dear Interested:
I have been informed by Francis Withngton, West Ha- ven’s Complaint Officer that your gripe is not a city issue. It is private property.
Dear Eleanore Turkington:
What’s the latest on the abandoned buildings at Beach Street?
Just curious
Dear Just Curious:
“We are hopeful that the galley will be down sometime in August. Again the other properties are privately owned and we can only monitor the blight, if any. They are on the radar by the Blight Department,” says Francis Withing- ton, city’s complaint officer.
Dear Eleanore Turkington:
Recently, I sent you a letter complaining of the graffiti on the skateboard complex on Beach Street. Will the painted ugliness ever be removed?
Disgusted
Dear Disgusted:
“The graffiti was removed and came back. I’ll get it taken care of,” states Francis Withington, complaint office.
Gripe Vine Readers:
Unless I am mistaken, motorcycle complaints sent to Gripe Vine have been slowing down. Please let me know how your neighborhood is faring with this gripe.
However, just as a reminder I am continuing to place items of interest on this subject weekly.
