Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care opened a new center today in West Haven, the first of two that will open in New Haven County this year. The West Haven center — in the Allingtown neighborhood just a few blocks from the University of New Haven campus — expands access to affordable, world-class healthcare for the students, professionals, and residents who live, work and learn in this bustling community.
The West Haven center is located at 1 Cellini Place in the Park View building, part of the University Commons development, near the corner of US-1 and Admiral Street. The center is across US-1 from EbLens, the clothing store.
“Ensuring convenient access to affordable, world-class healthcare is one of the most important things we can do to keep our communities well,” said Eric Walsh, M.D., Medical Director, Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care. “When we open new urgent care centers in communities like West Haven, people are able to receive on-demand, high-quality care, closer to their home or workplace. We are proud to expand our services in New Haven County and serve as the front door to the vast resources and expertise of Hartford HealthCare for people living, working, and pursuing higher education in West Haven and surrounding communities.”
The West Haven center will offer treatment for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries, on-site X-ray services, and COVID-19 evaluation and testing. It is open seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
The center is Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth’s sixth location to open since January 2022, following new center openings in Milford, Hamden, Branford, Newington South, and Granby. In total, there are now 25 Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth locations serving Hartford and Southeastern Connecticut. Two more centers are expected to open this year — in Derby in New Haven County and in Hartford on Pearl Street.
Patients seeking care can be seen quickly and easily by walking into the West Haven center or any Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care center or going online to save a spot and pre-register. Patients may also connect with a Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care provider remotely with a Virtual Visit, which can be done via a mobile device, computer or tablet.
