The West Haven Seahawks Junior Varsity team (2-0) shutout the Trumbull Rangers on Saturday, 26-0.
Quarterback RJ Whitlow threw two touchdown passes to Pearson Hill and Konya Taylor, who both had rushing touchdowns as well.
The offensive line played tough all day anchored by David Dougherty, Hunter Messina, Nate Osborne and Kani Wright. The stingy defense was led by Patrick Wargo, Robert Torres and Donte Salvatore.
The Peewee Seahawks (2-0) beat Trumbull 32-7 with scoring from Trysten Dos, Javer Smith, Jayzhim Massey, and Carson Hill. Connor Holy ran the ball tough in the fourth quarter to run the clock out.
The Junior Peewee team (1-1) lost a heartbreaker to Trumbull, 7-0, in a defensive battle. The Seahawks were inside the 20 yard line on the first drive but were held at bay.
Avian Evans and Nick Conlan ran the ball well. Ethan Blackwell and Ethan Holy led a physical defense.
The Mighty Mite team played very well against Trumbull. TJ Nixon accounted for two rushing touchdowns and Kiandre Lyman, Mason Wright added scores. Cyle Gore, Ezra Vereen and Caden Stanley led the defense each sacking the quarterback.
The Seahawks will at home this Saturday at Veterans Field on Bull Hill Lane. The flag football teams will begin at noon and the day will end with the Junior Varsity team kicking off against Trumbull at 7.
