‘Icy’ Plunge January 18, 2018 By whvoice Nearly 200 souls braved the frigid waters of Long Island Sound as participants in the 18th annual “Icy Plunge for a Cure” to benefit breast cancer research. While air temperatures hit above-freezing marks for the first time in days before plummeting again, the water temperature was a brisk 42. After a relaxing dip, swimmers headed for drier clothes and cozy environs. The faces on these youngsters tell the tale. They were part of the contingent of about 200 that took part in the 18th “Icy Plunge for a Cure” in Long Island Sound, Saturday.
