Heartfelt tribute for Peter Riccio

I’d like to thank the many who attended the recent funeral that honored my husband, Peter Riccio. It will be remembered as a heartfelt tribute to his life. My entire family deeply appreciated the support you gave us during this difficult time.

I’d like to especially thank Clem DeLucia at Porto Funeral Home. Clem was incredibly thoughtful and compassionate arranging every detail to provide comfort to the entire family

Ed. Note: The following was sent to WMNR with a request it be published as a tribute to Edward Silver in the Voice:

Dear WMNR Radio staff and volunteers:

We are enclosing our donation check to WMNR Radio in memory of our longtime loyal RotaryClub of West Haven member, Edward N. Silver, who passed away Oct. 28 after a brief illness. We understand that Ed was also a loyal and devoted supporter of WMNR Radio for many years. He always enjoyed listening to fine classical music, and WMNR provided the entertainment he so greatly enjoyed. He also enjoyed making the donations of doughnuts to your fundraising volunteers during your periodic fund drivs.

We members at West Haven Rotary will miss Ed’s presence at our weekly luncheon meetings, which he faithfully attended for a good many years until his recent illness this past October. He was a distinguished Paul Harris Fellow and a philanthropic financial supporter of our ongoing West Haven Rotary Do-Good Fund. He usually had an interesting anecdote to share with our members for our happy fine times.

I am also enclosing a separate personal donation check of $75 from my husband Bob and myself, as we have been friends of Ed Silver for many years, and he was my first employer.

We know that Ed Silver will be missed by all of us for his pleasant manner and kind generosity. May his spirit always live on.
