Last year the voters of West Haven elected Nancy Rossi as our new mayor and gave her a mandate to get West Haven’s fiscal house in order. Upon taking office she has uncovered a greater financial crisis than even she had predicted and inherited a city that is now under a State Review Board. She is working diligently to reduce unnecessary expenditures and reforming our city government into an efficient and cost effective operation. So what do we do to support her efforts to clean up West Haven?
First, 60 of West Haven’s finest Democratic community-minded residents have stepped forward to run with Mayor Rossi in the upcoming Democratic Town Committee Election which will be held on March 6. Mayor Rossi needs the support of the Democratic Town Committee in her efforts to reform and elect candidates who will do the right thing and not the politically correct thing.
The Democratic Town Committee’s role is to be the voice of the Democratic Party at the local level. One main objective of the Democratic Town Committee is to endorse Democratic candidates to run for office, both at the local and state level. I am running along with five other people from our district, Dorothy Chambrelli, John Clifford, Tom McCarthy, Lori Nacca and Andréa Talamelli.
Former Mayor John Picard made great strides in getting our fiscal house in order over his eight years in office but unfortunately the last administration dismantled all the progress that we had made and crippled our financial standing to the point where the state felt compelled to step in to manage our finances in cooperation with Mayor Rossi.
We must move on, remember the mistakes of the past, vow not to make them again and support Mayor Rossi in her efforts to place West Haven on a solid financial basis. We are asking for your vote to continue our efforts on behalf of the Democratic principles that we believe in. Please get out and vote on March 6 at Pagels Elementary School from 6 a.m. – 8 p.m. Vote Row – B.
Thank you for your support!
