The Elite Soccer Camps U-11 girls travel Lightning played against Orange Sunday afternoon, playing a solid game and coming out on top. 5-0. Jaylyn Powell, Aylin Soto, Annabelle Pasacreta and Alexandria Nunes scored, while Kayla Burt and Molly Gunning both played very well in-between the posts. Chloe Whelan played a strong game on defense for the Lightning.
The U-11 girls travel Thunder went to Cheshire Sunday, and despite playing hard, fell, 5-2. Sydni Gayle worked hard in goal, while Ciara Harp and Katelynn Salgado tried to spark the offense and finding the back of the Cheshire net. Llyanna Griffith-Waite and Amanda Fagnani both played well on defense for the Thunder.
The West Haven 15 boys competition team played a great game against Southington under the lights with a 3-0 win. Scoring for West Haven was Alan Lopez, Brian Rivas, and Rafael Gazcon Novoa. Jason Chacon assisted on the goals. Diego Soto, Jquan Clarke, Wilson Cordova- Coello and Titus Barsczewski played well on defense.
In action in the EB Division, Stars Ice Cream defeated the Orange Crush. Jordan White led all scorers with 4, while Sebastian Vasquez-Perez and Victor Magana Preciado both played well rounded games.
In another game the Stars Ice Cream team fought hard to preserve a 3-3 tie against the EB1. Leading the way on offense were Nicholas Westphal with 2 goals and Jordan White. Kenneth Peralta played outstanding in net with key saves to keep the game close.
In the FB Division , West Haven Elks Lodge 1537 team, despite a hard-fought game, took the loss, 5-2. Ryan Ahdalhak , Ahmad Abdulkarrem and Jayden Abekah displayed good soccer skills despite the loss.
In the FG Division, Cappetta’s Italian Imports Red Emojis, put in a good effort against the FG2 Kenan Maroon team despite a 12-3 loss. Giada Jimenez and Allianna Wilson played a fierce defense. Goals were scored by Leila Lancaster and Luciana Cappetta.
“The Red Emojis” made a strong showing in their first game, the previous week, against the FG1 Shoreline Wellness Center Green team with a competitive second half. They played a fierce defense against their opponents, with goals by Leila Lancaster, Charissa Ashong, and Luciana Cappetta.
In the CD Girls Division, the CDG4 Rockers Oyster River Energy lost, 6-1, to the CDG2 team. Scoring her first goal was Eveleen Jiang from a well-placed crossing pass from Asia Ford. While Sarah Davey played well, working in the mid-field positions.
In the CD Boys Division, CDB2 Maroon came out on top , 11-3, besting CDB4 Red Bull. Dan Bello covered the net duties, Jarrod Laudano netted 2 goals, Giann Robles, Zack Shippy and Christian Kuhl assisted.
The EG Division had a great game on display, EG4 girls, Cappetta’s Italian Red Fireballs lost to the EG1 Green team, 2-1. EG4 was lead in scoring by Madden Evangeliste , assisted by Natalie Reed, Katerina Oliviera and Madison Jacksics. Alexandria Lindsay, Sarahi Cruz-Cruz, Mackensie Jacksics supplied a good defensive effort. Goaltending duties were handled by Melissa Valtierra and Mariella Cappetta.
