The Gunning Law Firm Mets defeated the Aulieria Movers Pirates, 1-0, in a tight pitching duel between Robert Foley and Jayden Roby for the Mets and Tegan Grillo and Tyler Bassett for the Pirates. Ryan Malone scored the only run by stealing home on a passed ball. Brian Oliver had a game saving, game ending catch.
The Duffy’s Tavern Red Sox beat the Pirates, 10-7. Jason Gregoriades had three hits including a three-run double. Sean Studley, in a closing situation, had 5 strikeouts in 2 innings.
The Mets defeated the Leslie Jewelers Dodgers, 14-10. Tommy Vets had two hits including a triple with three RBI and scored two runs, Jacob D’Avignon had a pair of hits, and Mike Anderson scored three runs for the Mets. Ryan Luth had two hits for the Dodgers.
The Pirates beat the Dodgers, 8-3. Tegan Grillo pitched a complete game with 15 strikeouts and aided his own cause with two hits including a double, and four RBI. Juan Laboy had two hits for the Dodgers.
The Mets defeated the Red Sox, 7-0. Maurizio Urriola had a grand slam homerun, Danny Potter had three RBI, and Mike Luzietti scored three times for the Mets.
Saturday Shore Haven will hold its annual Dollar Day including an opening ceremony in which Rich Pyrdol, and the late Raymond Long and Louis Limauro will all be honored for their dedicated service to the league. Food will be available during all of the games including bacon-and-egg sandwiches in the morning and hotdogs and burgers in the afternoon; all items are $1 each.
