The city’s Fair Housing Commissioner is heading south to aid in the clean-up after the devastation of Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
Steven R. Mullins will be in Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina from October 17th through October 22nd with the Christian organization Samaritan’s Purse to help with the relief effort following Hurricane Helene.
“As we have seen on all news broadcasts, Buncombe County and much of western North Carolina have been completely devastated in the wake of the storm and the federal government response has been slow and the resources limited. I feel called to help in some way.” Said Mullins, a firefighter in the Allingtown Volunteer Fire Association.
Samaritan’s Purse is an organization that was founded by the late Reverend Dr. Billy Graham. It is now being managed by Dr. Graham’s son, the Reverend Franklin Graham. Samaritan’s Purse has been in the front lines of disaster relief for many years and seeks help from volunteers from all walks of life and backgrounds.
