The West Haven Lions Club and Annawon Lodge, #115, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of West Haven will be honoring Steven R. Mullins for a quarter of a century of service to West Haven at a dinner and testimonial program on Saturday, August 26th at 4:00 pm at the Lodge, located at 263 Center Street, West Haven.
Appointed by Mayor John Picard to the West Haven Planning and Zoning Commission in 2007, Mullins served on the Commission for sixteen years until last January. For six of those years, he served as either Chairman or Vice Chairman of the Commission.
In 1999, Mullins was elected Justice of the Peace by the West Haven Republican Town Committee. He also served on the 2001-03 West Haven Charter Revision Commission.
Mullins has served as a Connecticut State Elections Moderator and an Assistant Registrar of Voters in many city elections and primaries. He has served as a volunteer firefighter in the Allingtown District for nineteen years and has been President of the West Haven Black Heritage Committee since 2016.
Mullins is Vice President of the Lions Club and is a Past Master of the West Haven Masons. He is a communicant of the Episcopalian Church of the Holy Spirit in West Haven.
Dinner tickets are $35 per person. Proceeds go to the benevolent work of the West Haven Lions Club and the Annawon Lodge Fellowcraft Club. These charitable deeds include scholarship awards and veteran assistance programs.
