After Covid canceled all planned concert events for the last couple of years, Dr. Dino Ciaburri announced that the Nutmeg Symphonic Pops Orchestra and Chorale is resuming its programing with a special Christmas Concert. The concert will be held at St. Lawrence Church, 207 Main St., Sunday, Dec. 5 at 2 p.m.
The performance will begin with a wonderful overture for bagpipe and organ, “Highland Cathedral”, on the wonderful turn-of-the-century Hall organ, built right here in West Haven. That will be followed by traditional Christmas music with a small segment of the orchestra, chorus and soloists, a Jewish favorite with Meri Harary, the “Hallelujah Chorus” from the Messiah (audience is encouraged to bring their scores and sing with the chorale) and Nutmeg’s traditional ending “Let There Be Peace on Earth”.
Of special note is Connecticut’s famed tenor, Daniel Juarez singing “O Holy Night,” West Haven’s Maestro Paul Scanlon conducting the chorale and Maestro Dino Ciaburri conducting the orchestra.
This concert is presented by the Four Havens Music Society, Inc. a 501C3 nonprofit organization. It will accept and appreciate donations from the audience with the proceeds going to WHEAT.
