We mournfully announce the passing of Frank Francesco Gradoia, age 95, of West Haven, CT. Frank passed away peacefully at Milford Hospital on April 29th, after a brief illness. He was born on June 22, 1926, son of the late Salvatore and Maria Perricone Gradoia. Frank is survived by his brother Salvatore “Sal” Gradoia Jr. and his sister-in-law Eleanor Gradoia. He was predeceased by his sister Lucille, his brother Mario, and his sister-in-law Gail Gradoia.
While Frank never married, he was deeply devoted to his brothers and their families, and he lived a full and vibrant life with his many friends and family. His six nephews, Paul, John, Robert, Mark, Mike, and Eric, meant more to him than words can describe. Frank was an avid sports fan and could recall statistics with amazing accuracy.
Frank served proudly in the US Army with the 24th Division during World War II in the Pacific Theater, where he was part of the liberation of the Philippines and the Japan occupation forces. He was honorably discharged in 1946. Frank worked at Marlin Firearms before taking a position at Torrello Auto Parts, where he worked for over 46 years. We will miss him dearly.
The family had a private celebration of Frank’s life. Please consider a donation to Disabled American Veterans in Frank’s name. All Funeral Services have been entrusted to West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. To leave an online condolence, please visit our website at www.westhavenfuneral.com.
