The West Haven Mite A hockey team ended its regular season strong playing against Southern Stars Maroon.
The West Haven offense was on fire with Jack Weiss, Maddy Bruder, JP Beebe and Quinn Uscilla finding the back of the net multiple times each. Ava Healy also got on the scoreboard, and Gabbie Jenei, Beebe, Austin Picard and Uscilla assisted in the scoring. Brayden Gagliardi had multiple shots on goal, while Landon Alling debuted in net, rejecting most of the Stars’ shots.
On Sunday, Picard made his first showing in net count, turning away the majority of New Canaan A’s offense.
The West Haven offense remained hot with goals by Gagliardi, Jenei, Weiss and Beebe, and assists by Alling, Jenei and Uscilla.
Healy and Bruder contributed on both ends of the ice in a complete team effort.
The West Haven Mite B hockey team finished the regular season on a strong note, with three games filled with scoring and energetic play.
To open the weekend, the Westies hosted the Southern Stars B at Bennett Rink. With Darcy Jacob proving rock solid in net, the Westie attack stole the show.
Parker Vitelli notched a hat trick, while Dean Azano scored four goals of his own. Callen Tagliatela played strong defense in front of Jacob.
Next on the ledger was an early morning tilt against Southern B, a rematch from the day prior. Maddie Demayo played net and turned in one of the most impressive showings of the season.
Scoring multiple goals each for the Westies were Vitelli, Azano, Blake Bova, and Chase Liston. Rylan Jacob helped limit the Southern attack in the West Haven triumph.
Closing out the regular season, the Westie Mite B’s traveled to South Norwalk to take on Mid Fairfield 8u White.
Bova and Azano again led the West Haven offense, each finding the back of the net several times. Liston added two goals as well.
Darcy Jacob played with great pace and energy during the game. Tagliatela was all over the puck, helping to turn away the Mid Fairfield attack.
Parker Vitelli played a strong game in net, shutting down multiple scoring chances. Rylan Jacob helped to limit the opposition as well.
The West Haven Mite C Blue and White hockey teams combined forces and traveled to Choate to take on Wallingford Mite C. Delaney Webb was in net for the Blue Devils and made many exceptional saves during the matchup.
Multiple goals were scored by Connor Gaul, one assisted by Isabella Rasile, with another goal from Sebastian Malangone, and a final goal from Rasile, which was assisted by Addie Bova.
Additional shots on net were made by Chloe Kendall, Joey Gaul and Mena Paredes. In the shootout at the conclusion of the game, goals were scored by Bova, Rasile, Malangone and Wyatt Valentine.
West Haven Mite C Blue traveled to Newington to take on CT Chiefs 7U, concluding the regular season schedule.
In net for the Blue Devils was Kaden Kendall, who made record breaking saves between the pipes. Connor Gaul and Paredes each scored a goal, while shots on net were also made by Joey Gaul, Chloe Kendall, Marco Camera and Nico Camera.
Zander Cianciullo played excellent defense as well during the matchup. The Mite C’s are looking forward to their end-of-the-season jamboree taking place in mid-March.
