West Haven Park-Rec has a few new programs for adults & youth that are scheduled to start up in November:
Open gym basketball for West Haven resident youth (1st grade-high school) is scheduled to began this week. 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Carrigan Int. School, -2 Tetlow Place. To be admitted, West Haven youth must sign in and show proof of residency to WHPR supervisor at the door. Cost is $2 nightly or purchase a season pass (Nov-March) for $40. Individuals are asked to arrive by 7pm as doors close! WHPR has a NO RE-ENTRY policy. A limited number of basketballs are available at the program venue.
A new 5 week karate club session is scheduled to start in Nov. and registration is open. Cost is $50 and new students will receive a karate club t-shirt and belt. Please see below for your child’s school. REMINDER: registration generally closes 2 days before the scheduled karate club start date-PLEASE adhere to the deadline date and thank you for your cooperation! PLEASE NOTE: Forest karate club registration will close on Thursday, Nov. 8, due to Veteran’s Day holiday. Karate club is open to West Haven children 5-11 years(K-6), home-schooled, out of district or parochial school. However, child must be transported to that school.
Karate Club – Five- week session meets 1 day a week for 45 minutes after the dismissal bell. Children must be picked up from the program, there is no transportation. Forest – Tues. Nov. 13-Dec. 12 –must register by Nov. 8. Mackrille & Savin Rock – Monday, Nov. 19-Dec. 17, must register by Nov. 15. Pagels & Seth Haley – Registration is closed. Washington -Thu. Nov. 8-Dec. 13. Registration is closed. There will be another karate session January 2019!
Join an easy-to-do trial class of TAI CHI Ch’uan with instructor Jonathan Davis. (please choose only one date) on Nov. 13 or 20 at 1p.m. Johnson Center -top floor exercise room or Nov. 15 or 29 at 6 p.m., Molloy Building, Room 15. A new Fall session is scheduled to start Nov. 13 and 15. Senior discount and one and two day class options available.
