Teams in the West Haven Girls Basketball jockeyed for playoff positioning Friday night at Haley School with one week of the regular season remaining.
In the opener, Taryn Walker hit for 10 points and Cashlin O’Neil and Molly Gunning each had 6 points as the Gunning Law Huskies remained in first place with a 28-6 win over the Napoli Auto Parts Eagles. Finley Gunning, Emma McFarland and Sophie McFarland also scored for the Huskies. The Eagles were led offensively by Emily Velasquez and Amalia Ortiz.
The West Haven Drug and Alcohol Panthers got within a game of second place with their 14-9 win over the Rings End Bruins. Ciara Harp scored six points and Hayden Holm, Jasmine Smith, Rylie Boynton and Jaecianna Mitchell also scored for the Panthers. The Bruins scoring came from Sarah Went, Jada Turner, Nevaeh Stegall, Camilla Murphy and Noelle Lawrence.
The final game of the night saw the Shoreline Dental Cardinals rally to a 14-13 win over the Prospect Fish & Game Blue Devils. Jada Fowler, Lily Granata, Madden Evangeliste and Parish Rutledge accounted for the Cardinal points. Madison McGuire. Micah Pullen and Terrianna Rodgers led the Blue Devil attack
Finley Gunning, Sophie McFarland and Taryn Walker paced the Gunning Law Firm Huskies to an 11-8 win over the Rings End Bruins. Noelle Lawrence, Sara Went and Jada Turner accounted for the Bruins points.
Ciara Harp hit for 16 points and Jaceianna Mitchell added seven to lead the West Haven Drug and Alcohol Panthers to a 32-18 win over the Shoreline Dental Cardinals. Madden Evangliste scored eight points and Kelsey Palma added four points for the Cardinals.
Micah Pullen, Madison McGuire and Terrianna Rodgers led the Prospect Fish and Game Blue Devils to a 10-5 win over the Napoli Auto Parts Eagles. The Eagles scoring came from Michelle Sosa, Emily Velasquez and Amalia Ortiz.
