West Haven High School officially retired No. 8 in honor of the late Blue Devil Robert Vincent Fumiatti. A New Haven Police office, Fumiatti was shot in the line of duty and died of complications from that incident in 2007. A star defensemen for the Blue Devils, he played on the 1988 state championship team and was an assistant captain his senior year, 1989.
