Staff Appreciation Week was marked to thank all West Haven school employees for their hard work and effort throughout the school year. To show appreciation for the dedication shown by all staff, the West Haven Board of Education, and unions, partnered up to bring Zuppardi’s Pizza truck to each school building for all employees to enjoy.
Kristen Scanlon, West Haven Federation of Teachers President, was thankful for the thoughtfulness.
“We feel very grateful the superintendent, Board of Education, and the Board of Education unions generously decided to join us to celebrate everyone’s hard work and dedication,” she said.
Superintendent of Schools Neil Cavallaro expresses his sincerest gratitude to all staff.
“This has been an extremely challenging year. Our entire staff was asked to perform a number of duties and responsibilities that just the prior school year, no one could imagine,” he said. “When Kristen Scanlon approached me with this idea as a way to celebrate our employees, I was thrilled to present it to Cebi Waterfield. The Board immediately got on board, the feedback has been great. Who doesn’t love Zuppardi’s Pizza?”
Cebi Waterfield, Chairmanof the Board of Education also extends her appreciation to all West Haven School employees who she describes as having an impact and outreach that went above and beyond.
“The Superintendent had this idea and we wanted all staff to realize just how important they are to us as a whole,” she said.
