West Haven Public Schools has partnered with Apptegy, a school marketing company, to launch a new and website. The newly enhanced whschools.org features a new look with what is hoped to be an user-friendly, responsive, and easy-to-navigate interface.
“Our new website allows us to better tell the story of our incredible students, staff, and our entire school community,” said Mike O’Brien, Communications Director. “I believe users will find it much easier to get the information they are looking for, while also keeping up-to-date with all the events and accomplishments happening throughout the district.”
The new design was created with the user in mind. Aside from the aesthetics and usability, the platform also provides administrators access to post frequent updates. Some of the new features include a News section to highlight all the exciting stories and accomplishments happening within the district and a Live Feed section for instant notifications. There is also an Events Calendar that can be downloaded to a user’s email or smartphone, and a Spotlight section to highlight our amazing students and teachers.
“This new website has been a year in the making. Mike and the team from Apptegy did an excellent job of developing it while taking into consideration what information our families need to take advantage of all the opportunities this school district has to offer,” said Superintendent Neil Cavallaro. “It will become an essential tool for the entire school community. I am excited about the release.”
A mobile app will be available in the coming weeks as well and will allow users to turn on push notifications to get the most up-to-date information from their respective schools, including school closings, early dismissals, etc.
