The West Haven Seahawks’ 10U team remained unbeaten (4-0) with a 33-0 win over the previously undefeated Seymour Tigers.
Frank Green opened the Seahawks’ scoring with a fumble recovery for a touchdown. Caden Stanley, Jorrae Dupree, Azriel Pizarro and TJ Stevenson all added rushing touchdowns for the Seahawks. Mason Wright, Demarius Rutledge, and Colin Murray led the quick and stingy defense to preserve the shutout.
The 8U football team (4-0) remained unbeaten with a 21-0 victory at the Bridgeport Raiders. Kaedyn Desruisseaux started the scoring with an interception for a touchdown. Majesty Whitaker and Tristian Crawford scored offensive touchdowns. Trayvon Jaynes, William Pastore, Jacari Harris and Mason Booker played well on defense.
The 12U football team (3-1) continued to improve with an impressive 28-0 win over the Seymour Tigers. Running back Yahinus Mercer scored the first Seahawk touchdown on a 3-yard run. Aedan Coe added a 61-yard scoring run and quarterback Nick Conlan connected with Teriq Mallory and Coe for 63 and 41-yard touchdown passes. Ethan Holy added a safety and converted the extra points. Lindell Jaynes, Delaney Fludd, Tykese Robinson led the defensive effort.
The 14U Seahawks (2-2) fell to a talented Hamden Hurricanes team, 34-13. Demari Barker scored the hawks two touchdowns and Javier Smith was all over the field and played good defense.
The blue flag football team (5 & 6) traveled to Seymour to take on the tigers. The Seahawks traded scores and played a great game. The offensive attack was led by Tyler Jackson, Aiden Dowdye and Colin Watson. Playing well on defense was Noah Nieves. The green flag team traveled to play the Hamden Hurricanes. Quarterback Andrew Loehn connected with receiver Emmanuel Purdue who scrambled 50 yards for one of his three scores on the day. Jovanni Perez scored a touchdown on the last play of the game. Nehemiah Knight played well on defense causing several key losses.
The Seahawks return home this Saturday with the flag football games beginning at noon. The 8U team will host Hamden at 1, 10U will play New Britain at 3, 12U vs Danbury at 5 and 14U plays Hartford at 7.
