The West Haven Seahawks finished the regular season and 3 of the 4 tackle teams will advance onto the Southern Connecticut Pop Warner playoffs that will begin this weekend.
The 10U team (9 and 10) finished the season undefeated and improved their record to 8-0 with a 55-13 win over the Redding-Easton Falcons. The 10U team earned the top seed in the conference playoffs. They will compete in the semi-final round on Nov. 7.
The Hawks had 8 players score Jacari Harris, Jermaine Gibbs, Trayvon Jaynes, Mighty Jackson, Skyler Stanford, Chace Stanley, and Jadon Spell. Tristian Crawford caught a 55-yard scoring pass from Jeremiah Thames. Chris Summers and Will Pastore each accounted for an extra point conversion. The defense was led by Muyakanwi Ngoh, Brady Coe and Kaden Lafountain.
The 8U Seahawks lost to the unbeaten Danbury Trojans, 27-7. Andrew Cuzio and Jackson Boynton led the Seahawks offensive attack. Playing well on defense was Kaleb Gibbs and Caleb Redman.
The 12U Seahawks lost to the Bloomfield Warriors, 32-0. Quarterback Mason Wright and Colin Murray played well on offense. JJ Lugo, TJ Stevenson, and Kody Barnes led the defense.
The flag football team (#1) played well against Naugatuck scoring 5 touchdowns. Khaliel Canty, Grant Locke and Camron Spell played well on offense and defense.
The 8U and 10U teams play this Sunday. The 8U team plays at Naugatuck High School at 9 on Sunday against Naugatuck to see who will advance to the semi-final round. The 12 U team will play Stratford at 11:30 at Chicopee High School. For more information, please visit www.westhavenseahawk.com
