The West Haven Seahawks 10U football team (9-0) defeated the Manchester Sentinels, 37-13, in the Southern Connecticut Pop Warner semi-finals and now advance to the conference championship game this Saturday at Veterans Field in West Haven at 12:30.
The Seahawks will play the Naugatuck Hounds in the championship game. Tristian Crawford scored four touchdowns in the Seahawks win against Manchester including a 42-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jeremyah Thames. Majesty Whitaker added two scores.
The Seahawks’ defense was led by Jacari Harris who had six tackles for losses and 10 tackles on the day. Jermaine Gibbs, Jayden Spell and Jaydon Potter also played great on defense.
The West Haven Seahawks 8U team also played in the conference semifinals this past weekend and fell short to an undefeated Manchester team, 26-7. Jackson Gabriel and Jackson Boynton led the offense effort. The defense played well and was led by Colin Watson who forced two fumbled and Cam Davis.
The flag football teams ended their seasons on Thursday night with football games under the lights at Veterans Field against the Stratford Renegades. West Haven will host all the conference championship games this weekend. The 10U football team will advance to the regional playoffs with a win Saturday.
The Seahawk cheerleaders competed and were successful in the New England Pop Warner Cheerleading championships this past weekend The Seahawk Junior Peewee, Peewee and Varsity squads qualified and will advance to the Pop Warner National Championships at Universal Studios in December.
