The West Haven Seahawks 12U team improved its record to 4-1 with a 25-13 win over the Danbury Trojans. Quarterback Nick Conlan ran for two scores and passed for another.
Conlan had rushing touchdowns of 2 and 33 yards, and connected with receiver Teriq Mallory for a 36-yard touchdown pass. Running back Kieandre Lymon added a 16-yard touchdown run as the Seahawks pulled ahead 25-0. Running back Bryan Tillman converted for an extra point. Danbury scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter in an attempt to get back in the game. Ethan Holy, Lindell Jaynes and Anthony Dorsi played well on the defensive side of the ball.
The Seahawks 8U team remained unbeaten (5-0) with a 33-0 win over the Hamden Hurricanes. Tristan Crawford, Majesty Whitaker, Mighty Jackson, Jaden Spell and Jermaine Gibbs fueled the offense. Mason Fonseca, Mason Booker, Mohammed Turay and Ja’cari Harris locked down the defense and held Hamden scoreless.
The 10U Seahawk team (4-1) was knocked from the ranks of the unbeaten by the New Britain Raiders, 21-6. The Raiders stunned the hawks running to a 21-0 lead. The Seahawks came back in the second half when quarterback mason Wright connected with receiver JJ Lugo for a 67-yard touchdown pass. The Seahawks put some good drives together in the 4thquarter, but fell short. A solid defensive effort by Caden Stanley, Arthur Rossi, Colin Murray and Angelo Petruzziello.
The 14U team fell to a very talented Hartford Hurricane team, 39-7. Running back Demari Barker scored the only Seahawk touchdown, the first given up by the Hartford team this season. Javier Smith played hard on offense and defense.
The two flag football teams (5 & 6) took on the Danbury Trojans. The blue team was led by Colin Watson who scored a touchdown and Payton Roach who ran the ball well. Noah Nieves was all over the field on defense. The green team was led by Emmanual Purdue, Aaron Sullo and Elijah Vreeland.
