The West Haven 8U football team (6-0) continued their winning ways with a hard-fought 20-6 win at the New Haven Steelers. Trayvon Jaynes, Tristian Crawford and Majesty Whitaker scored for the Seahawks. The defense bent but did not break with William Pastore, Mason Booker and Jacari Harris leading the way.
The 10U team improved to 5-1 with an impressive 27-6 win at the Trumbull Rangers. Azriel Pizzaro scored two rushing touchdowns and Caden Stanley and Colin Murray had scoring receptions from Quarterback Mason Wright to fuel the Seahawk offense. JJ Lugo had an interception and Angelo Petrezuiello, James Dupree and Yusef Turner held Trumbull at bay on defense.
The Seahawks 12U team (5-1) continued to win with a 33-0 win at the Trumbull Rangers. Aedan Coe, Bryan Tillman, Eli Stevens, and Ethan Holy had rushing touchdowns. Quarterback Nick Conlan connected with receiver Teriq Mallory for another score. Jovon Williams scored an extra point. Yahinus Mercer exceled on defense and Lindell Jaynes had interception to protect the shut out.
The West Haven flag football teams (5&6) faced off against each other on Sunday at Veterans Field. Both teams had a great time and exchanged scores. The Blue Team offense was led by Peyton Roach and Ethan Rodriquez and Joel Martinez and Jackson Boyton played well on defense. The Green Team was led with outstanding efforts from Riley Ortiz, Rylan Pope, Elijah Vreeland and Aaron Sullo.
The Seahawks go on the road again this weekend. The 8U team will travel to New Britain on Sunday at 10, and the 10U, 12U and 14U will travel to Amity for games at 10, noon and 2. The flag teams will travel to Danbury and Stratford.
