The West Haven Seahawks Continued to roll in week 3 at home at Veterans Field.The flag football teams played Ansonia and Seymour. Both teams played well. The blue team played Ansonia with Colin Watson, Aiden Dowdye and Javien Graveline leading the way. The blue defense was led by Levi Gatison. The green flag team played Seymour. Leading the green teams attack was Davion Kline, Andrew Loehn and Rylan Pope.
The 8U team improved to 3-0 with 41-7 win over the Ansonia Coppers. Jermaine Gibbs scored a touchdown and accounted for four extra point conversions. Majesty Whitaker and Tristain Crawford both had two scores on the day. The offense line opened up big holes and was anchored by CJ Schlauder, Justin Frias, and Jayden Potter. A great defensive effort was put forward by Jacari Harris with 10 tackles and three sacks. Brody Coe, Kahill Tomlinson and William Pastore were key in controlling the Ansonia running attack.
The 10U team (3-0) continued on their winning ways with a 33-0 win over the Derby Red Raiders. Azriel Pizarro accounted for three touchdowns and Leon Joyner added another. Quarterback Mason Wright connected with receiver Colin Murray for a long touchdown pass to put the game away for the Seahawks. The defense recorded a shutout behind Caden Stanley, TJ Stevenson and Kody Barnes.
The 12U Seahawk team (2-1) bounced back with a win over the Stratford Redskins 35-0. Quarterback Nick Conlan has three touchdown passes, two of them to Jovon Williams and the other to Terig Mallory. Ethan Holy and Bryan Tillman scored rushing touchdowns. Conlan connected with Yahinus Mercer for the extra point conversions. Nyshawn Robinson played well on the offensive line and Anthony Dorsi and Eli Stevens led a great defensive effort.
