Republican Mayoral Candidate, Barry Lee Cohen, was endorsed by Shelton Mayor Mark Lauretti, in what both termed, “a transformational time for West Haven residents to usher in positive change, transparency, and accountability to city government.”
Lauretti has served as the mayor of Shelton since 1991. During his tenure, he has placed stringent controls on municipal expenses while making Shelton the business destination for economic development.
Lauretti said, “Barry is ready to serve on Day One of taking office. He’s a proven, roll-up-the-sleeves skilled business executive, community leader and problem solver who has the right experience to move West Haven forward. Barry and his best-in-class team will deliver sorely needed transparency, responsible economic development, and fiscal management to West Haven. I look forward to working with him to make our region the envy of the Northeast.”
Cohen said, “I am extremely grateful to be endorsed by Mayor Lauretti. He has taken Shelton from high taxation, infrastructure problems, and safety concerns to economic excellence.”
