The Martones, who have been married for 67 years, were among 20 couples married for at least 50 years. John and Mary Malenda, who celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in January, were recognized as the youngest couple.

Children from the West Haven Child Development Center, Inc., recently participate in the Forest School Project, led by teachers Laura Ziltye, Kathy Malone and social worker Chloe Smith. Dr. Patricia Major, professor-emeritus of the Southern Connecticut State University School of Education, oversees the project.

Kyleen Crowe (30) is the Vio’s Sports Plus/Westie Blue Player of the Week. In two games this past week, Crowe turned aside 45 of 47 shots to help the Westie Sharks post a pair of victories.
