    Children's Theatre
    The West Haven High School Children’s Theatre Proudly presents the Adventures of Rose Red (Snow White’s less famous sister), by Sean Abley, on Saturday, Feb 10 at 10 and 11:30 a.m. at the high school. Children 12 and under are free with tickets for all others at $5. Children are urged to bring a pillow or blanket to sit upon, adults get chairs. This student run production is directed by David O’Brien, with costumes by Courtney Skeens, props by Hannah Casman, choreography by Stephanie Soto and Mya Ginsberg and set design by Shelby Gagne. Stage Manager is Selena Melillo.

    Students at Alma Pagels School on Benham Hill Road celebrated the 100th day of the school year this week, and had a bit of a dress-up. Students were asked to come in dressed as if they were centenarians. That’s the vocabulary word of the day. They came up with some interesting renditions.

    It was an unusual day at Alma Pagels School this week as the student body marked the 100th day of class. For the record a school year has 180. As part of the celebrations, the kids were asked to dress up as if they were 100 years old. As you can see, they took it seriously.

  • St. Lawrence School Students of the Month
    St. Lawrence School Students of the Month
    St. Lawrence School recently celebrated its students of the month for January, in a ceremony held at the school. The students were honored for their academics and achievements in the classroom. Each student was awarded a pin and certificate, and the students, along with their parents, were invited to have breakfast with the pastor, the Rev/ Jose Mercado and Principal Paul DeFonzo.     The West Haven High School Industrial Arts wing ended a 55-year run of training young men and women in various trade skills. Eliminated as part of the rebuilding of the campus, crews first dismantled the structure down to the girders. Last week, heavy machinery was brought in to begin the task of taking down the superstructure. Industrial Arts classes have been moved to the former “small gym,” which was retro-fitted over the summer.
