West Fest 5Hundreds of residents, students and visitors took part in West Fest 5, a cooperative effort of the city, the University of New Haven and the Mayor’s Advisory Commission, made up of UNH students. The event fosters town-gown relations, and introduces students to their home away from home. Dance teams and other entertainment were on hand, as was face painting.

'Mickey's Fight' book signingMark and Rachel Macholl will sign copies of their newly released, No. 1-trending Balboa Press book, “Mickey’s Fight,” chronicling their family’s battle to save their son from cancer. The promotional book signing, “Beers & Books,” will take place from 6-9 p.m. Friday at Duffy’s Tavern, 241 Campbell Ave. People can bring a copy of the book for the Macholls to sign, or they can buy one at Duffy’s. See ya!West Haven Seahawk Joe Lugo races to the end zone and beats Stratford opponents for a score last weekend. The Seahawks’ squads had a mixed weekend in the second date on the schedule. Lugo’s team, however, topped the Stratford Redskins and pushed its record to 2-0 in the early season.
