The West Haven Twilight League has announced that the league is looking to grow its baseball community and expand. The league announcement came just several weeks into the offseason in late September, with the league posting on its social media accounts “The West Haven Twilight League is looking to expand and add teams!”
Created in 1933, the West Haven Twilight League is one of America’s oldest twilight baseball leagues. This latest expansion effort comes after an uneven 2026 team lineup.
The past season featured a five-team league of All-Brite Electric, Flanagan’s, J Roo’s, Baybrook Remodelers and Romano Landscaping. J Roo’s won the 2026 championship, which is their first with the league.
After the season concluded, West Haven played against the Greater Hartford Twilight League, which resulted in a West Haven combined no-hitter – showcasing the talent of the West Haven players.
With the expansion post, the league made a graphic flyer showing that they’re open to bringing in an already existing team or someone starting their own team. The league does allow player-managers, making this expansion effort aimed at anyone who may already have an established team, or players who want to play ball and want to be part of an expansion team.
The league’s call for new teams comes as local baseball continues to provide an important outlet for players with different backgrounds and experience levels.
If interested, the league asks those to email at whtlbaseball@gmail.com for more information, joining or starting a team.
