Walter Camp Football Foundation (WCFF) has partnered with two non-profit organizations to distribute PPE and meals to those in need throughout the Greater Bridgeport and Greater New Haven areas.
The Central Connecticut Coast YMCA provides programs for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility in 24 towns and cities throughout the Greater Bridgeport and Greater New Haven areas. Alpha Community Services is a subsidiary of the YMCA which provides Connecticut’s largest homeless shelter and permanent supportive housing sites.
WCFF donated more than 1000 reusable high-quality cloth masks, more than 100 plastic face shields and hundreds of bottles of hand sanitizer to the YMCA and Alpha Community Services, which are estimated to last throughout the summer and into the fall.
During the Covid-19 crisis, Westies Care, Inc., a 501(c)3 charitable organization which provides food assistance to needy populations throughout West Haven, has been delivering free meals seven days a week to the needy. To date, through the assistance and generosity of Lorenzo’s Restaurant, Westies Care has delivered over 12,000 meals to the needy and continues to do so every day.
The WCFF has funded a donation that will pay for the wholesale cost of product to be used by Lorenzo’s Restaurant to provide over two hundred and fifty meals which will be distributed by Westies Care to those in need throughout West Haven.
