West Haven Girls Basketball had teams gearing for the playoffs with a full slate of games on Friday night at Seth Haley. The defending champion M & S Lawncare Panthers have steamrolled through the league and have remained unbeaten this year.
On Friday, the Panthers rallied to upend the Louise’s Bakery Cardinals, 22-13. Summer Krajcir hit for 11 points and Ciera Harp added nine for the Panthers. They also received strong play from Camryn Howard, Michelle Tompkins and Rylie Boynton. The Cardinals offense was led by Jocelyn Avardo, Aniah Glover, Lily Granata and Jasmyn Dagraca.
The Gunning Law Huskies upended the Lacobelle Law Bruins, 21-13. Ariaya Smith, Molly Gunning, Samira Hickaby and Daniella Parisi combined for the 17 Husky points. Taryn Walker, Chloe Whelan and Sophie McFarland also scored for the Huskies. The Bruins were led by seven points from Michaela Pribnow and points from Jaylyn Powell and Nevaeh Stegall.
The TBNG Eagles used the play of Angelina Messina, Kaylee Sellner, Madyson Ortiz to upend the Prospect Beach Club Blue Devils, 12-9. Natalia Washington and Justice Butler starred for the Eagles. The Blue Devils’ scoring was led by Ella Morgan, Courtney Gorske and Jessica Heaven.
The league has one more week of regular season games with playoff starting the following week.
