The West Haven High School PTSA is looking for sponsors for 2022-2023 school year. The group sent a flyer looking for assistance this year raising funds. It has become increasingly difficult to meet its fundraising goals. For this reason, group leaders are reaching out to businesses, community leaders, residents and those willing to assist us in reaching our goals through monetary or in kind donations.
The PTSA works with the WHHS school administration to put on enrichment activities for students, such as last year’s Anti-Tobacco Day of Education. It has an advocacy goal this year to focus on helping to fight food insecurity within the WHHS community and throughout the full school community. It is doing this through donations to our school pantry, actively seeking grants for this project, working with WHHS’s student club Fill-A-Bag Fuel-A-Mind to set up food drives and to increase the advocacy efforts within West Haven High School.
“If we are successful in obtaining increased grants and donations, we hope to assist reaching the long term goal of Fill-A-Bag Fuel-A-Mind, which is to open a pantry in each of the elementary schools. There are currently school pantries within WHHS, Bailey Middle School and Carrigan Intermediate school. In order to be an integral part of making this happen, WHHS PTSA would like to be able to donate at least $10,000 this year to this project,” states a letter sent to community leaders.
A large part of the fundraising efforts every year goes to celebrate our senior class. WHHS PTSA donates annually to scholarships, the senior picnic and the senior trip. The annual goal to support these events ranges from $10,000 to $15,000.
“In order to meet our goals this year we have developed sponsorship opportunities. Please see attached sponsorship opportunities, pricing, and form to sign up. Please help us meet our fundraising goals this year,” the letter states.
