The West Haven Wizards had an amazing weekend at Yankee League Swim Trials Sixty-three Wizard swimmers will advance from all the age groups with 6 additional swimmers qualifying as alternates. Fifty-two swimmers will advance to Yankee League Finals, and the 8-and-under age group will send 11 swimmers onto the All-Star Pentathlon in two weeks.
From the 8-under age group, the following swimmers will advance to the All Star Pentathlon: Sophie Fonch, Camila Procino, Ella Sutton, and Winter Valdivieso as an alternate. A number of swimmers are moving into the finals. Seeded first: Nathan Charron for the 9/10 boys 50-yard backstroke; Jacob Collete for the 11/12 boys 50-yard freestyle; Kaelyn Falanga for the 13/14 girls 100-yard freestyle; Emma Tirollo for the 15 and over girls 100-yard freestyle; and Anya Celmar for the 15-over 100-yard butterfly. Second in the finals are: Aarya Mulmi for the 9/10 girls 50-yard backstroke and the 50-yard freestyle; Leahn Mendoza for the 9/10 girls 100-yard individual medley; Collin Charron for the 11/12 boys 50-yard butterfly and the 50-yard backstroke; and Carly Weber for the 15-over girls 200-yard freestyle. Also, the 9/10 girls 200-yard medley relay team, the 11/12 boys freestyle relay team and the 13 and over girls medley relay teams are all seeded second.
